As a Chinese immigrant with no English skills, I relied on art to make friends in public school. Any down time was a good time for doodling, whether it was the long plane ride over from China at 4 years old or the short breaks between classes in middle school.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 with a Bachelors in Business Administration in Management Information Systems with a minor in Marketing. I started my career as a software developer building niche tax software for private equity firms and hedge funds, through which I gradually took on more design-oriented tasks. After discovering UX, I took a flying leap of faith across industries to pursue my dream field.
I most recently worked as a UX Designer and Researcher in Dallas, TX. I took some summer graphic design classes at the Rhode Island School of Design, and I am currently earning a Master’s in Human Centered Interaction + Design from the University of Washington in Seattle.
I consume a lot of publications, both online and off, and I am always working on my next passion project. When not thinking about design I enjoy shopping, drawing, karaoke, and the occasional 10k. Also, I like coloring hair :)
